City of Mounds View Comprehensive Plan <br /> Future Housing Needs <br /> Metropolitan Livable Communities Act Program <br /> The City of Mounds View participates in the Metropolitan Livable Communities Act Local Housing <br /> Incentives Account. To carry out the principles of this program,the City of Mounds View agrees to <br /> use the benchmark indicators for communities of similar location and stage of development as <br /> affordable and life-cycle housing goals for the period to 2010. The City will make its best efforts, <br /> given market conditions and resource availability,to maintain an index within benchmark ranges for <br /> affordability, life-cycle and density. Table 17 illustrates where Mounds View stands in relation to <br /> Metropolitan Council benchmarks. With an aging housing stock, lower valued <br /> homes,and lower income families the City will continue to have to address substandard housing.It <br /> is the goal of the City to address housing issues now before they become a bigger problem. <br /> 54 <br />
