Park and Recreation Committee Meeting Agenda <br /> April 22, 2004 <br /> 6:30 P.M. <br /> Roll Call <br /> 2. Swear in new member(Dale Aukee) <br /> 3. Approval of minutes from the April 22, 2004 meeting. <br /> 4. Rick Wriskey,the City Forester, will be present and will provide a City Forestry update. <br /> 5. Unfinished Business: <br /> a) Greenfield Park Play Equipment - request from residents to have the equipment upgraded now. <br /> As per City Legal Counsel—donations to City Parks may be tax deductible—however, always <br /> consult your tax advisor. <br /> b) Groveland Park Building Replacement. —This issue has been placed on the May 3, 2004 City <br /> Council Work Session Agenda. On May 10, 2004, the City Council approved Resolution No. 6203 <br /> Authorizing the Preparation of a Site Plan, Construction Plans, Specifications, and Consultant <br /> Selection for the Groveland Park Shelter Building Replacement Project. Steve is working with the <br /> consultant TKDA to develop the site and construction plans. <br /> c) Facility Guide Update <br /> d) Park Usage Data Collection Sheets—any up dates? <br /> e) Community Survey—This was included in the May/June addition of the Mounds View Matters. As <br /> of 5/25/2004 a total of 19 surveys were filled out and returned to the City. The deadline for <br /> submittal is September 3, 2004. Would the Commission wish to review the surveys now? <br /> f) YMCA Committee Update—Park usage fee status, class financial report - fee structure <br /> g) Lakeside Lions Park Parking Lot—This was included in the 2003 Street Improvement Project as a <br /> bid alternate. Bids were received for this project. The low bid was $99,965.25. The engineer's <br /> estimate was $104,750. Should the City Councils of Mound View and Spring Lake Park wish to <br /> proceed with the parking lot project, they will need to award it to the contractor. The bid award was <br /> originally scheduled for May 24, 2004. However, due to issues with the Rice Creek Watershed <br /> District regarding the 2003 Street Improvement Project, the bid award was continued until June 14, <br /> 2004. The joint powers agreement with the City of Spring Lake Park was revised to include the <br /> Lakeside Lions Park parking Lot. The City Council approved this revision on May, 10, 2004. <br /> h) Lakeside Fishing Pier—The DNR is developing the necessary agreements to be signed by Spring <br /> Lake Park and Mounds View. <br /> 6.
