Park and Recreation Committee Meeting Agenda <br /> December 16, 2004 <br /> 6:30 P.M. <br /> 1. Roll Call <br /> 2. No minutes from the November 18, 2004 meeting are available. <br /> 3. Unfinished Business: <br /> a) Greenfield Park Play Equipment - <br /> On Monday, December 13, 2004 the City Council ordered the Greenfield Playground Equipment <br /> Replacement Project and awarded the contract to Minnesota/Wisconsin Playground in the amount <br /> of$60,000.00. The City Council also approved revising the contract to include a climbing wall at an <br /> estimated cost of $4,000, with the total project cost not to exceed the budgeted amount of <br /> $64,541.05. The inclusion of said climbing wall is contingentonreceiving majority approval from <br /> the Parks and Recreation Commission. The details to finalize the project, including the possible <br /> inclusion of a climbing wall and the color scheme, will need to be discussed. <br /> b) Groveland Park Building Replacement. — <br /> Staff met with representatives of TKDA on December 1, 2004 to discuss this project. TKDA has <br /> submitted a draft concept plan for the Commissioner's review. TKDA has indicated that based on <br /> ENR(Engineering News Record) data the building construction cost for the Groveland building <br /> may be 26% more than the Hillview building. This increase is based solely on inflation. TKDA will <br /> be collecting site data in January. <br /> c) Facility Guide Update—This was review at the last meeting. Staff is still working or addressing all <br /> of the comments. A revised draft will be submitted to the Commission in January. <br /> d) YMCA Committee Update—A meeting was held on December 6, 2004. Items that were discussed <br /> were Recreation Software Purchase, fitness center equipment upgrade- looking at replacing with <br /> used YMCA equipment, adding two new security cameras, and revising the entrance sign to include <br /> all current tenants. <br /> e) 2004 Park Needs Analysis—This was completed at the October meeting. <br />
