Motion was seconded by Commissioner Donna Bowman. <br /> Motion passed. <br /> 6 ayes <br /> 1 nay <br /> Commissioner Dennehy dissented. <br /> SILVER VIEW PARK Director Anderson reviewed the staff report regarding the current <br /> UPDATE status of Silver View Park. Staff also mentioned that some <br /> vandalism had occurred recently at Silver View Park including: <br /> 1. Trees were cut down Halloween night. <br /> 2. The hay bales surrounding the ponds were <br /> set afire. <br /> 3. 4-Wheel drive vehicles have been driving <br /> over the berms. <br /> 11111 <br /> Staff also outlined there is some concern regarding the prob- <br /> ability of children snow sliding into the pond before the <br /> pond is frozen . <br /> The other issue at Silver View is the potential that the pond <br /> will be smaller than first anticipated due to the problems that <br /> Kraus/Anderson had due to poor material . <br /> WINTER SKATING Director Anderson reviewed the progress report on winter <br /> skating. The portable buildings have been ordered and will <br /> be on site December 11 , with the rinks scheduled to open <br /> Saturday, December 19. <br /> Commissioner Bowman asked why skating lessons were not being <br /> offered this winter. Staff responded as follows : <br /> 1. Skating instruction is offered at Columbia, • <br /> Roseville, and Shoreview ice arenas at a better <br /> quality than can be offered at outdoor facilities . <br /> 1 <br />
