PARKS AND RECREATION COMMTSSION <br /> MINUTES <br /> Page 2 <br /> September 24 , 1981 <br /> 1111 <br /> PARK BOND Director Anderson expressed the need for long range <br /> REFERENDUM future planning by the Parks and Recreation Commission <br /> REVIEW <br /> as to how to implement facilities and where and how to <br /> proceed. <br /> PARK SHELTER Director Anderson reviewed the report . The proposal is to <br /> BUILDINGS build an octagonal building at Lambert Park and rent <br /> trailer buildings to replace the shelter buildings , which <br /> - were being proposed by staff to be demolished. <br /> Through discussion several questions and suggestions were <br /> expressed: <br /> Bathrooms are not included in the buildings . <br /> Use of satellites indoors will be utilized. <br /> Seeking assistance from community groups for the <br /> construction of the shelter building at Lamber <br /> The trailer shelters will be rented for 10 weeks <br /> must be skirted around the bottom. <br /> Discussion of cutback in the number of sheets of ice was <br /> discussed. Mr. Stone expressed the approval of only 3 <br /> hockey rinks , stating that better maintenance is required. <br /> After much discussion about rink elimination ; Jerry Linke <br /> made the motion to eliminate Edgewood and Oakwood skating <br /> rinks in the 1981-82 season and to eliminate the Greenfield <br /> hockey rink but continue to maintain a Greenfield pleasure <br /> rink. Donna Bowman seconded the motion. Motion passed. <br /> 5 ayes <br /> 0 nayes <br /> Donna Bowman further made a motion to eliminate all ex' t- <br /> ing shelter buildings. Jerry Linke seconded the' moti <br /> Motion passed. <br /> 5 ayes <br /> 0 nayes <br />
