Park Shelter Buildings
Page 7
September 22, 1981
S
5. Groveland Park - We would expand our existing pleasure skating rink in 1982
and propose a building to be constructed in 1984.
6. Woodcrest Park - We would eliminate the hockey rink and pleasure skating rink
in 1983 with the boards and lights to be thrown away.
7. Silver View Park - We would relocate the hockey rink and lights from Greenfield
to Silver View in 1983. This would serve as our major family pleasure skating
rink with a large area flooded and a new philosophy of skating becoming a drive-
to rather than walk-to facility would emerge.
In conclusion , should this plan ever become realty, we would eventually have 3 hockey
rinks ; Hillview Lambert and Silver View Park, with 5 pleasure skating rinks at Hillview,
Greenfield, Silver View, Groveland and Lambert Parks .
Staff will be expanding on the ramifications of such a plan at Thursday's Commission
meeting.
