MINUTES OF THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE
PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION
CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW
COUNTY OF RAMSEY
• STATE OF MINNESOTA
December 4, 1980
Mounds View City Hall
Council Chambers
6:30 p.m.
Call to Order The Mounds View Parks and Recreation Commission was
called to order at 6:40 p.m. by Chairman Burmeister.
Roll Call Commissioners Present - Donna Bowman, Frank Silvis ,
Chairman Burmeister, Gordon Fedor, Wayne Weflen,
Jerry Linke, Marilynne Dennehy, and Gordon Kuluvar .
Commissioners Absent - Lloyd Scott
Councilmember - Gordon Ziebarth
Staff Present -Director Anderson and Program Supervisor
Kvalheim
Approval of Minutes The October 9 , 1980 minutes were moved for approval
by Gordon Kuluvar and seconded by Frank Silvis .
Motion passed
• 9 ayes
0 nayes
Chairman's Report Wayne Burmeister announced the gift of a flowering
plant which was sent to Jack Shields -- a $1.50 donation
would be appreciated to help contribute to the cost.
Director Anderson briefed the Commission on Jack 's
condition.
Lakeside Park status It was announced that the Lakeside Commission may be
disbanding as of January 1, 1981. Director Anderson
reviewed the present and future issues of the Lakeside
Park Coi,uniss ion.
Commissioner Bowman briefed the Commission of the
position of the Lakeside Park Commission which is con-
sidering disbanding in hopes of emerging a working
administrative body with an advisory board of Commissioner
rather than a commission of laborers . . . which is an
over-burden to Lakeside Park members. It is hoped that
a city or county will take on the responsibility of
operating the Lakeside Park beach facility. Lakeside
Park Commission operates on approximately a $20,000.00
budget. One of the red tape problems is that Lakeside
Park concerns two cities and two counties . Commissioner
Donna Bowman made a motion for Mounds View City Council
to adopt a resolution to be sent to Anoka and Ramsey
Ccunties for the takeover of Lakeside Park. Commissioner
Jerry Linke seconded the motion. Motion passed.
9 ayes
0 nayes
