FORESTRY
* The Forestry crew has continued to work at each park
trimming trees and landscaping. In addition, much time was
spent at Silver View Park trimming the parking lot island
and surrounding trees.
* Chipping trees in preparation for Autumn and Winter months
will begin after necessary trimwork is completed.
GOLF COURSE
* Staff has met with several firms that program and sell cash
register systems for golf courses. Of particular interest
is cash registers that are fast and easy to learn and
operate and yet provides information necessary for the
auditors. I have called many golf courses for references on
their systems. Kitty, Brus and I have met with several
companies in search of the best system. The current system
is too undependable - having two crashes due to electrical
failures, program software glitches and slow transaction
time. It is also too complicated a process. It is not paid
for, still under trial operations. We plan to return the
system and look into other options.
* A time clock has also been ordered and will be installed
early next week for both Clubhouse staff and Golf Course •
Maintenance staff. The time clock system should simplify
the computation of time sheets for the golf course staff.
* The protective netting has been installed along the second
hole. It hopefully will take care of the problems with
stray balls into the trucking company parking lot.
* Bridgco has done some work on the boardwalk. Unfortunately
Bridgco workers had a terrible attack from hornets as they
came into contact with a hornets nest. They will only
return after the hornets nest has been removed.
CABLE TV
* Cindy has been working on enhancements to the Community
Bulletin Board which lists information on the Cable TV
channel in-between programs. She really does a nice job.
* Cindy completed the August "A View From the Mound" including
an interview with Richard Meyers as the special interest
guest, introduction to new employee, Dawn, and legislative
update with Representative Dick Fellow.
•
