Bob Brown Miracle Recreation Equipment Company Grinnell, Iowa 50112 Dear Bob, • I wanted to thank you and Miracle for all the assistance, cooperation, patience and guidance that was provided over the last tan months. We are very pleased with r.he waterslide we installed, it has helped in changing our pool from a traditional Fublic pool to that of a leisure pool. When combined with the playground area, miniature golf course, added decking and landscaping we have increased the average length of time people spend at the pool from 2 hours to almost 3 hours. I included a copy of our attendance figures and pool usage for the past three summers so you can L,ee the impact this project has had on our community. Over the summer we only had four injuries during public usage. These included. I.wu kids who slipped. on the stairs or platform while running on the respective areas • using small cuts and minor scrapes. One child put a hole in his lip when he was tting down in the entry section and hit his chin cn his own knee. The fourth rr .ury was a cracked clavical suffered by one of the members of our Senior Citizen Ana Trim clams, who insisted that we allow them to go down the slide after one of ( heir classes. Over the summer we had 242,973 people go down the waterslide, which . onverts to just one minor acci ent Tor every 60743 rides. The slide provided a fast enough ride to keep the teenage users coming back but ;et it was not fast enough to scare the younger kids or adults. Yes, I am admitting ;ou were right and we were wrong when we asked for a 15 horse pump to guarantee < nc:ugh water flow to provide both excitement and safety. We never did open the t,ut.terfly valve more than 1/3 of the way, thus restricting the amount of water the ptu:Fp was capable of providing by 1/3. If we had put in a smaller pump our initial .o:.t and our electrical costs would have been reduced without loosing any of the xc itement. Thanks again for all your cooperation. When we finally have a chance to compile ;cad chemical, electrical, and staff costs that we incurred this past summer, as oapared to previous summers, I will pass those figures on to you. Thank you.
