•
MEMO TO: PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION
FROM: MARY SAARION, DIRECTOR
DATE: APRIL 19, 1995
SUBJECT: PEDESTRIAN BRIDGE UPDATE
An panel of staff members and Councilmember Julie Trude
interviewed six firms that submitted proposals for design,
engineering and inspection services for the pedestrian bridge.
Two firms were eliminated from the original six. The remaining
four firms were further researched for their cost containment,
ability to get the job done on time, accuracy, rapport with MNDOT
and other attributes. Because all four had excellent references,
the final determination was cost. BRW had the lowest bid. BRW
was called to negotiate terms and to gain full understanding of
the requirements of the project.
Councilmember Trude will request the City Council to approve BRW
as the Design, Engineering and Inspection service for the
pedestrian bridge. Attached are the memos that will be presented
to the City Council .
