Thursday, April 25 is our next regular scheduled meeting. I have invited Jeff Voyen, Public Engineer and Vice President of Geotechnical Division of American Engineering Testing, Inc. He performed the analysis of Woodcrest Park in 1995. He will be able to answer any questions we may have regarding future improvements to Woodcrest Park. So, I suggest that we meet at Woodcrest Park at 6:30 p.m. Jeff will meet with us at City Hall at 7:00 p.m. Also, I have requested proposals for playground equipment for Random Park, to replace the current play structure. The Commission will have the opportunity to review these proposals. Random Park equipment is very old and out of safety compliance. The old structure needs to be • removed. Since Random Park is the site of a year-round pre-school program for children 2 - 5 years old, I have requested a pre-school age design. The budget provides for $20,000 for equipment replacement. I would like to see that entire amount in actual equipment. Parks staff will be expected to perform the installation. Ease of installation is therefore a consideration. These two items alone will take some time and discussion. Therefore I have kept the agenda to a minimum of items. Please make every attempt to attend the meeting.
