MEMO TO: Mounds View City Council
FROM: Bruce K . Anderson Io to ,
• Parks , Recreation . fir , , : • try
DATE : October 10 , 1983
IIII
RE: Forestry Procedures
It has called to my attention that there have been some concerns
raised by residents regarding the City ' s current policies in the
shade tree disease control program . To that end , I have
requested that City Forester Wriskey provide a brief synopsis of
our current tree disease inspection and removal program so that
you might be better aware of how our current program is
functioning .
As can be noted in City Forester Wriskey ' s comments , we have not
experienced any difficulty to date in enforcing our shade tree
disease control program as outlined and judging from the figures
that we have received in reduced diseased trees , I feel very
strongly that our existing forestry program is one of the best in
the metropolitan area and has served the residents extremely
well .
Should you have any questions regarding the attached memo, or
desire staff to provide additional support or background data to
the Council , feel free to contact myself directly at ext. #41 .
In addition , it should be noted , that we have an ongoing
educational program through our City Forestry Division in both
the City Newsletter and New Brighton Bulletin which occurs on a
regular basis to inform the public on our programs and policies .
BKA/sll
Attachment
II
