MINUTES OF THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE <br /> PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION <br /> CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br /> COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br /> 1111 <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> September 1 , 1983 <br /> Mounds View City Hall <br /> Council Chambers <br /> 6 : 30 p.m. <br /> TO ORDER The meeting was called to order at 6: 30 p.m. by <br /> Chairperson Wayne Burmeister with a tour of the <br /> new park development within the City' s system. <br /> The City park tour lasted approximately 1-1/2 <br /> hours and included Mounds View City <br /> Councilmembers Doty, Blanchard and Mayor McCarty <br /> as well as the Park Commission. Parks involved <br /> in the tour included Silver View, Sunny Square <br /> in New Brighton, Lambert, Hillview and Groveland <br /> Parks. Following the annual park tour , <br /> Chairperson Burmeister called the formal Park <br /> and Recreation Commission meeting to order at <br /> 8: 05p.m. <br /> ROLL CALL Commissioners present: Chairperson Burmeister, <br /> Commissioners Silvis, Weflen, Letendre, <br /> Wermager, and Bowman. <br /> 4111 Commissioners absent : Commissioner Long <br /> Councilmembers present: Councilmember Doty <br /> Staff present : Park and Recreation Director <br /> Anderson, Aquatics Director Maureen Thielen <br /> APPROVAL OF THE A motion was made by Commissioner Silvis, <br /> MINUTES seconded by Commissioner Weflen to approve the <br /> June 23 , 1983 Park and Recreation Commission <br /> minutes as mailed. The motion passed <br /> unanimously. 6 ayes, 0 nayes <br /> CHAIRPERSON' S Chairperson Burmeister had no formal report at <br /> REPORT this time . <br /> COUNCILMEMBER' S Councilmember Doty outlined the 1984 capital <br /> REPORT improvement prioritization process that had <br /> occurred during the past month. There were four <br /> park projects in the top ten budget priorities <br /> including the establishment of a park project <br /> fund , mower tractor, development of Random tot <br /> lot and hockey rink fencing. <br /> A great deal of discussion followed <br /> Councilmember Doty' s report with Commissioner <br /> 411CIALL <br /> Silvis indicating that he would like to see the <br /> City Council adopt a special levy for park <br /> maintenance to insure that the parks are <br /> developed and maintained in future years. <br /> Commissioner Wermager urged the City <br />
