Park and Recreation Commission Minutes <br /> May 26 , 1983 <br /> Page three <br /> • <br /> III <br /> SILVER REPORVIEW TPARK Staff outlined a report on the status of Silver <br /> FINAL View Park which highlighted the expenditures and <br /> revenues to date for the acquisition and develop- <br /> ment of Silver View Park. Staff indicated that <br /> they have expended a little over $255, 000. 00 to <br /> date and it appears that the final budget account- <br /> ing will show a deficit of approximately <br /> $1 ,600. 00. The Commission accepted the report and <br /> stated that they would like to see some type of <br /> dedication of the park be considered as part of <br /> the "Festival in the Park" activities . Staff <br /> stated that they would be discussing this <br /> possibility at the next Festivities Commission <br /> meeting. <br /> SUMMER RECREATION Staff just reviewed very quickly the summer <br /> PROGRAM UPDATE recreation program offerings and stated that <br /> the super ball program with the new pitching <br /> machine would be operational in early June . <br /> REVIEW POLICY Staff discussed the problems that had happened <br /> CHANGE ON WEEKEND in the past with no supervision on weekend <br /> TOURNAMENTS tournaments and recommended that the tournament <br /> policy be altered to reflect having a paid <br /> • supervisor on duty at all times. A motion was <br /> then made by Commissioner Bowman, seconded by <br /> Chairperson Burmeister to have a supervisor for <br /> all tournaments to be paid for by the tournament <br /> coordinator . Motion passed unanimously. <br /> 7 ayes <br /> 0 nayes <br /> STAFF REPORT Staff outlined four new projects that were evolv- <br /> ing within the City. <br /> 1 . Update on the City Composting Program. <br /> 2 . Silver View Park status. <br /> 3 . New Brighton Gift Guide . <br /> 4 . Feasibility of selling balloons at the <br /> Festival . <br /> ADJOURNMENT A motion was made by Commissioner Bowman, seconded <br /> by Commissioner Long to adjourn the meeting at <br /> 9: 26 p.m. Motion passed unanimously. <br /> 7 ayes <br /> 0 nayes <br /> Re ,•ems ujf b itted, <br /> 1 <br /> 4( e K.
