Comm. <br /> Page Four <br /> III <br /> A motion was then made by Commissioner Bowman, <br /> seconded by Commissioner Wermager , to endorse <br /> the Ramsey County leaf composting program in <br /> concept and recommended the Moga property be the <br /> No. 1 site location. The motion was passed <br /> unanimously. 7 ayes 0 nays <br /> REVIEW POSSIBLE Staff indicated that the Saturday, April 30th, <br /> MEETING DATE WITH meeting with the City Council was not possible <br /> CITY COUNCIL as a number of City Councilmembers were going <br /> to be unavailable that date. Staff indicated <br /> that it might be more appropriate to meet with <br /> the City Council prior to a regularly scheduled <br /> Commission meeting during the summer months. <br /> The Commission directed staff to arrange for a <br /> convenient date and report back to the Commission. <br /> GROVELAND PARK Staff indicated that the Groveland Park Founda- <br /> PLANNING COUNCIL tion was requesting to install some site amenities <br /> at Groveland Park. Specific requests included <br /> bench and planter area around the volleyball <br /> court, park signs, and picnic grills . <br /> A motion was made by Commissioner Silvis, • <br /> seconded by Commissioner Bowman, to authorize <br /> the Groveland Park Foundation to install benches <br /> and planters around the volleyball area, park <br /> signs, and grills. The motion passed unanimously. <br /> 7 ayes 0 nays <br /> SUMMER RECREATION Staff distributed summer recreation brochures <br /> PROGRAM REVIEW and reviewed new program offerings for 1983 . <br /> Staff indicated that the major new program for <br /> 1983 would be offering the summer playground sites <br /> at the playground shelter buildings rather than <br /> school facilities. In addition, new structured <br /> classes for elementary school students, such as, <br /> pottery, woodworking, and arts & crafts would be <br /> offered in conjunction with the School District ' s <br /> summer school program. Staff also indicated that <br /> summer registration had been extremely good in <br /> that the adult softball and youth baseball league <br /> registrations were extremely high. <br /> ADJOURNMENT A motion was made by Commissioner Wermager , <br /> seconded by Commissioner Silvis, to adjourn the <br /> meeting.
