Suporvisors must review with the youn ter:3 the: importance of handling <br /> �1,..;... ' equip,cnt properly. Each batter and coach ::houl.d wear a helmet and con- <br /> tinuo to wear it when they arc on base. Players must not throw helmets <br /> or bats( please read article, "You're Safe"). The program director will <br /> replace broken or :lost equipment. It is the supervisor's responsibility <br /> Ilt to report broken or non-playable equipment. Safety precautions involving <br /> the Jugs pitching machine should also be discussed. <br /> X. Supervisors will write a brief summary of each week's games. The summary <br /> will appear in the Sun Newspaper as it is given to the Public Relations <br /> Director. Supervisors should try to include as many names as possible. <br /> Summaries must be in drop box at Police Dept. <br /> XI. Supervisors and assistant supervisors must not use profanity nor allow <br /> the youngsters to do so. <br /> XII. The Jugs pitching machines will be stored in a park building or school <br /> depending upon the location of the park. The parks involved with the <br /> Jugs League proram ar e:Cornelia, Countryside, Normardale, and Pamela. <br /> XIII. Supervisor's responsibilities for the Jugs League uniforms; <br /> • A. The Jugs Lea guo uniform for each youngster consists of a monogrammed, <br /> E.B.A. T-shirt, cap, socks, and baseball Punts. Baseball shoes with ' ' <br /> spikes are not allowed. The cap and T-shirt are the youngsters to keep; <br /> whereas, the baseball rants and socks must be returned at the end of <br /> • <br /> the season. Pants should be fitted according to size(sall pants sizes <br /> were ordered this year for each team) . Adjustments will have to be <br /> made by the mother with pants that do not fit. <br /> B. Supervisors should insist that youngsters be in full uniform for all <br /> games. This procedure should also be enforced during playoffs. Uniforms <br /> should not be worn during practice. <br /> C. Sup2rv:isois will have to devise their own system for collecting uni- <br /> forms at the end of the season. It is suggested that uniforms be <br /> collected directly atter the last game(y'oungs tors wear gym shorts or . <br /> bathing suit under uniform) . The pants and socks returned to the <br /> • program director must be clean. <br /> XIV. The Supervisor must be attentive to the child's personal safety at all <br /> times. The Edina Rescue Squad number is 925-2233. If an injury does not <br /> require the rescue squad, please call the youngster's parents at home <br /> to explain the circumstances. <br /> XV. Supervisors must make up all postponed games. • <br /> . XVI . Supervisors will be given an ample number of practice balls plus four <br /> dozen new baseballs. At least four to five new baseballs should be used <br /> each week for games. New baseballn should be "rubbed down" so they are <br /> not slippery for the youngsters when they are throwing. For safety reasons, <br /> softened baseballs should not be used in the Jugs pitching machine. <br /> XVII. Supervisors should enroll any new child that wants to play. Make sure <br /> the youngster' s name is given to the program director. Parents must <br /> fill out a registration card and make a payment of$20. made payable to <br /> the Edina Baseball Association. <br /> )VIII . Dress code for supervisors and assistant supervisors is shirt, pants(shorts), <br /> • and shoes. <br />
