1 <br />May 1, 2023 <br />Item D <br />Recently, the City has received informal requests for fiscal participation in Non -Profit or Quasi - <br />Governmental Organizations. Specifically, they are: <br />Community Partners for Youth — CPY <br />Tubman <br />National Sports Center <br />Community Partners with Youth (CPY): <br />Giving is down and they suffered a major reduction from a large donor (as did many). They are located <br />in New Brighton and they have a contract with the City of New Brighton ($80,000) to provide after <br />school services (meals and activities) to school age children. The program was born of a goal of reducing <br />undesirable behaviors/activities of school age children, after school recessed for the day. <br />Staff asked leadership to provide data on youth served as Abiding Savior is a partner with CPY which is <br />housed at Christ the King in New Brighton. In 2022, an average of 50 youth were served meals and 72 <br />(out of 317) youth were engaged in their programs. <br />This is an ongoing/yearly request. <br />Tubman: <br />Provides legal services and advocacy. Mounds View PD, refers residents on a weekly basis. They also <br />work closely with our prosecuting attorney, Katrina Joseph. In 2022 they drafted 7 Orders of Protection, <br />handled 39 Criminal Advocacy cases, and responded to 51 Legal intervention line calls from our officers. <br />They placed a value of $25,435 on these services. They have lost funding as well and are seeking to <br />contract for services and absent that, will need to reduce staff and services. MVPD currently does not <br />have an alternative. Residents would have to seek resolution/assistance on their own. <br />This is an ongoing/yearly request. <br />
