- 3 - <br /> PARK SHELTER BUILDING <br /> UPDATE : Staff distributed a memo which outlined the progress <br /> • to date regarding the potential purchase of park <br /> shelter buildings from the Elk River School District . <br /> It appeared that the buildings were still available <br /> and the City Council had agreed to allocate $24 ,000 <br /> to purchase and complete the three park shelter <br /> buildings . Staff gave a brief overview of the <br /> • buildings which include a 24' x 32 ' structure with <br /> a forced air heating system, two doors , completely <br /> panelled, light fixtures, central air conditioning <br /> and carpeting. The Park Commission accepted the <br /> report as presented by staff and further directed <br /> staff to continue pursuing the purchase of the new <br /> park shelter buildings . <br /> In addition, staff reviewed the potential location <br /> of the new buildings, reviewing the problems concern- <br /> ing the existing park plans as compared to the pro- <br /> posed new plans . Following the discussion, motion <br /> was made by Commissioner Silvis , seconded by Com- <br /> missioner Wermager to relocate the park shelter <br /> buildings at Woodcrest and Hillview Parks as per <br /> the master plan and further directed staff to meet <br /> with the Groveland Park residents to determine the <br /> best location for the Groveland Park shelter building. <br /> The motion passed unanimously. <br /> • 6 ayes <br /> 0 nayes <br /> LVIEW OF POLICY RE : USE Staff reviewed a report with the Park Commission <br /> OF OUTSIDE 'AGENCIES FOR which outlined the current use of outside agencies <br /> PROVIDING RECREATIONAL for recreational programs as well as a potential <br /> PROGRAM SERVICES : policy to assist with the hiring of outside firms <br /> in the future . After reviewing the policy as pre- <br /> sented by staff, the Parks and Recreation Commission <br /> referred the issue back to staff for further research <br /> and review with potential agencies that it might <br /> effect. <br /> ADJOURNMENT: A motion was made by Commissioner Silvis , seconded <br /> by Commissioner Bowman to adjourn the meeting at <br /> 9 : 15 p .m. <br /> oto. y d.mitted, <br /> r <br /> 411111I�' <br /> ce K. . n <br /> BKA/sll <br />
