MINUTES OF THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW COUNTY OF RAMSEY STATE OF MINNESOTA July 22, 1982 Mounds View City Hall Council Chambers 6:00 p.m. CALL TO ORDER: The meeting was called to order at 6:05 p.m. by Chairperson Wayne Burmeister. ROLL CALL: Commissioners present: Frank Silvis, Marilynne Dennehy, Wayne Weflen, Wayne Burmeister, Donna Bowman , Cindy Wermager. Commissioners absent: Ed Letendre Councilmembers absent: Bill Doty was excused due to vacation. Staff present: Director Bruce Anderson APPROVAL OF MINUTES: A motion was made by Chairperson Burmeister, seconded by Commissioner Dennehy to approve the March 25 and April 22 minutes as mailed. The motion passed unanimous- ly. 6 ayes 0 nayes CHAIRMAN'S REPORT: Commissioner Burmeister provided a brief update on Silver View Park and the vandalism that he had personally viewed at the site. COUNCILMEMBER'S REPORT: No report SILVER PARK UPDATE: Park and Recreation Director Anderson provided a verbal update as to the status of Silver View Park including the potential of 1983 L.A.W. C.O.N. funding and the major tree planting program on May 8, 1982. Staff further indicated that Phase I development of Silver View Park had taken place but at this time we still have not closed out four contracts due to poor workmanship. EDGEWOOD JR. HIGH UPDATE: Staff forwarded a report indicating that Edgewood Junior High had been declared as the School District Community Center and would remain open effective August 1 , 1982. Staff stated that this change would have tremendous impact on not only the City of Mounds View but our department in particular as both the pool and indoor facilities would be available for day, weekend and evening programming.
