Anderson, ,: ' : c 1I+• <br /> Parks , Recreation4 ilr, ry <br /> DATE : May 25 , 1982 <br /> RE : Monthy Staff Update - April , 1982 <br /> The following issues or programs are outlined to provide the <br /> Commission with a better overview of our department 's day to <br /> day operations . Each of the listed items are strictly inform- <br /> ation oriented and not intended for formal Commission action: <br /> 1 . New Secretary - Sharie Linke has been hired as our new <br /> Department Secretary, effective May 10 , 1982 . She has <br /> 410 <br /> picked up her new duties quickly and appears to be enjoying <br /> her first two hectic weeks . <br /> 2 . Forestry Planting - We had a very successful community <br /> tree planting celebration on Saturday, May 8 , 1982 , with <br /> over 65 volunteers participating . We planted over 150 <br /> trees and the park is really beginning to take shape . <br /> 3. Park Vandalism - On Monday evening , we had 5 of our newly <br /> planted trees stolen from Silver View Park. They dug the <br /> trees right out of the ground and left a barren hole . Can <br /> you believe it ! <br /> 4 . Flower Planting - Under the direction of City Forester Wriskey, <br /> we have expanded and we feel improved our flower planting <br /> program in 1982 . Take note to view the improved M.V. planter <br /> Swith its new retaining wall and painted timbers . <br />
