MEMO TO: Mounds View Parks and Recreation Commission
FROM: Staff
4111
DATE: June 26 , 1985
RE: Groveland Park playground equipment
Enclosed is a staff memorandum that was submitted to the Mounds
View City Council for their review at their regularly scheduled
June 10 , 1985 City Council meeting. As can be noted, the recom-
mendation was to purchase the Durascape Plus playground equipment
from Gametime in an amount not to exceed $15,000 based on the
formal bid proposals. The funding was based on the $5,000 Neigh-
,
borhood
eigh-
borhood Park Planning Fund Grant, $7 , 500 from the Groveland Park
Foundation and $2, 500 from the MSA Bond Fund. Staff has also
included a copy of the schematic of the proposed playground
equipment which gives a better feel for the specific equipment
that was purchased.
The major reason this equipment was selected by the Groveland
Park Foundation Directors was because we received a very favor-
•
able bid proposal and also the Groveland Park Foundation felt it
had the best play value , as well as variety of equipment.
Staff is especially pleased that the City Council allocated an
additional $2 , 500 from the MSA Bond Fund to match the Groveland
Park Foundation and Neighborhood Park Planning Fund to make the
playground equipment a reality. Staff will have additional bro-
chures outlining the Durascape product at Thursday evening ' s
meeting .
BKA/sll
Attachment
