. C-4
11
CD Independent School District No. 621
Mounds View Public Schools
0 2959 North Hamline Avenue • St.Paul,Minnesota • 55113 • Phone(612)636-3650
Ill
OPaul Donley, Director of Community and Support Services .
May 6, 1985
Mr. Bruce Anderson
City of Mounds View
2401 Highway 10
Mounds View, Minnesota 55112
Dear Mr. Anderson,
This is just a short note on behalf of Mounds View School District 621
to indicate our support and endorsement of the city's effort to secure a
park development grant for the Red Oak school site. As you are aware, Red
Oak school site is no longer used as a school and has been declared surplus
property by Mounds View School District. We are currently in the process of
marketing this site in the current market appraisal of $230,000.
11111 Although no formal action has been taken by the Mounds View School Board,
School District administrative staff would support a long term lease to the
city for the Red Oak property. The lease would be for a minimum of 15 years
and be made available to the city at reasonable cost.
We are extremely supportive of the development plans to include a
soccer/football complex, as the district is currently experiencing a shortage
of said facilities. We feel strongly that the myriad of Youth Athletic
Associations would make great use of the first class athletic complex.
If you have any questions on the School District' s position on this issue,
please call me at 636-3650.
Sincerely,
Paul Donley, Dire or
Community and S pport Services
111/1
Serving the communities of Arden Hills • Mounds View • New Brighton • North Oaks • Roseville • Shoreview • Vadnais Heights
Equal Opportunity for Education and Employment
