MINUTES OF THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE <br /> PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION <br /> • CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br /> COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> December 5, 1984 <br /> Mounds View City Hall <br /> Council Chambers <br /> 6 : 30 p.m. <br /> CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order at 6: 37 p.m. <br /> to Chairperson Wayne Burmeister . <br /> ROLL CALL Commissioners present: Chairperson Burmeis- <br /> ter; Commissioners Bowman , Weflen , Linnel , <br /> Letendre , Silvis, Long . <br /> Commissioners absent: none <br /> Commissioners present: Councilmember Doty <br /> Staff present: Parks and Recreation Director <br /> Anderson . <br /> STAFF INTRODUCTION Staff indicated that nine consultants had <br /> TO GREENFIELD PARK submitted proposals for engineering and land- <br /> PROJECT scape architecture services for Greenfield <br /> illo <br /> Park. The Greenfield Park Phase I Develop- <br /> ment Project is being funded by a $175,000 <br /> L.A.W.C.O.N. Grant. Staff stated that phasel <br /> would include two lit tennis courts, approxi- <br /> mately 4 ,200 linear feet of trail system, <br /> relocation of the ballfield, new soccer <br /> field , 26 car parking lot and general land- <br /> scaping. Staff also indicated that the nine <br /> firms had been narrowed down to three for a <br /> formal interview based on the proposals sub- <br /> mitted, cost, related project expertise , and <br /> references. The three firms that will be <br /> interviewed include Brauer and Associates, <br /> Damon Farber and Associates and Barton- <br /> Aschmann and Associates. <br /> GREENFIELD CONSULTANT Brauer and Associates were represented by <br /> INTERVIEWS Paul Fjare and they made their presentation <br /> to the Commission at 6 : 45 p.m. Mr. Fjare <br /> indicated that Brauer and Associates' firm <br /> proposed a total contract bid of $12 ,950 plus <br /> an additional cost for soil borings and con- <br /> struction testing of $2 , 500 plus direct <br /> expenses would be assessed back to the City. <br /> Mr. Fjare ' s major position was that the mas- <br /> • ter plan needed some review and work and dis- <br /> cussed how he might redesign the sites. <br />
