.�� <br />�� <br />NEIGHBORNOOD PARR PLANNING FUND GUIDELINES <br />PURPOSE <br />TAe purpose of the neighborhood park development and planning <br />fund is to encourage, promote and asaist local residents, neigh- <br />borhood organizations, and civic groupa in the establiahment anA <br />development of local park projects from a both financial and in- <br />kind labor perspective. <br />OBJECTIVES <br />1. To establish, develop and create other neiyhborhood park <br />planniny councils using the Groveland Park Foundation as a <br />model. <br />2. The neighborhood park planniny fund will not expend more than <br />508 of the available monies on an annual hasis in each of <br />!he three esiablished and separa[e accounts. <br />3. Thece will be three separate accounts establishetl Eor dissem- <br />inating neighborhood park planning Eunds: <br />a. Initial or seed money account will oonsist of 158 of tne <br />total fund. This account will be utilized for developing <br />new neighbochood park planning councils and first time <br />projects proposed by local neighborhood residents, organ- <br />izations and/oc civic groups. The grant monies Erom this <br />account need only be matched by an eyuivalent of inkind <br />labor from the sponsoring group. <br />b. Short term projects. The short term project fund will <br />not exceed 608 of the total fund balance at any time. <br />Short term projects are those projects defined as those <br />❑aving a budgeted dollar amount of less that 55,000 and <br />will be completed within a one year period. All short <br />term projects are required to be matched by an equal <br />amount of funds from the sponsoring agency or qroup. <br />Long term project. This account will not exceed 258 of <br />the neighborhood park planning fund and will consist oE <br />projects exceeding a 55,000 budyeted amount. The project <br />ehoultl be planned with a minimum o£ one yeac involvement <br />by the proposed group or organization and neede to be <br />matched on a 509 cash basis and 508 inkind labor and/or <br />materials. <br />GUIDELINES <br />1. The neighborhood park planning fund project reyuests will be <br />reviewed on an fndividual �roject basis and applications may <br />be submitted to the Parks and Recrea[ion Commission <br />throughout the year. All applications must be submitted on <br />t�e oEficial application form and be received at least one <br />-°� week prioc to t�e regularly scheduled Parks and Recreation <br />l, Commission meeting for review at their following mee[ing. <br />v <br />2. The neighborhood park planniny Euntl monies are available for <br />all neighbochood parks within this system excluding Silver <br />View Community Park and the two school park locations, F.dye- <br />wood and Pinewood Elementary School. <br />�:: <br />
