MINUTES OF THE PROCEEDINGS <br /> OF THE PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION <br /> CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br /> COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> //fr 6:30 p.m. <br /> Mounds View City Hall <br /> Council Chambers <br /> CALL TO ORDER The meetings was called to order at 6:33 p.m. by <br /> Chairperson Wayne Burmeister <br /> Commissioners Present: Silvis, Starr, Anderson, <br /> Long, Rowley and Chaiperson Burmeister. <br /> Commissioners Absent: Daniels <br /> Councilmembers Present: Wuori, Quick and Linke <br /> Staff Present: Director Saarion, Administrative <br /> Assistant Linke and Forester Wriskey <br /> Residents Present: Ed and Laurie Trettel, Carol <br /> Golden, Randy Miller, Tom McKay <br /> APPROVAL OF MINUTES A motion was made by Commissioner Long, seconded by <br /> Commissioner Silvis to approve the February 26, <br /> 1987 minutes as written. Motion passed <br /> unanimously, 6 ayes, 0 nayes. <br /> 11/ CHAIPERSONS REPORT NONE <br /> COUNCILMEMBERS REPORT NONE <br /> REVIEW THE RESOLUTION Director Saarion reviewed the resolution regarding <br /> ESTABLISHING A POLICY park land abutting residential property. Forester <br /> FOR PARK LAND THAT ABUTS Wriskey said that he had located the park <br /> RESIDENTAL PROPERTY boundaries and would be working with residents <br /> regarding landscaping of the boundary areas. <br /> Director Saarion requested feedback from residents <br /> regarding the trail going totally around the park. <br /> Resident Carol Golden stated that she had a map <br /> indicating that the trail would not go through the <br /> residents backyards and added that she had paid a <br /> $10,000 premium to the builder to have a lot <br /> located on the pond. Commissioner Silvis stated <br /> that the agreement was merely verbal regarding the <br /> trail and that nothing was ever put in <br /> writing. <br /> Forester Wriskey asked the residents if people are <br /> continuing around the pond. The residents said yes <br /> they are, but they stay very close to the edge of <br /> the pond and this becomes somewhat dangerous and <br /> unsteady. Forester Wriskey than asked if the <br /> residents felt planting shrubs to channel people <br /> around the area would help delineate park property. <br /> The residents replied that it would be a good idea. <br />
