Parks,ks, Recreation and Forestry
January 6, 1987
11111 Page Two
Purpose of Study
We will obtain subsurface information, perform laboratory tests to
determine pertinent soil properties, and make geotechnical engineering
recommendations to assist you in planning and design of this project.
Scope of Services
In order for us to provide the geotechnical recommendations needed by
you, we suggest the following work scope:
1 . Put down two 15' auger borings, one in the vicinity of
the proposed playground structure and the second in the
proposed paved court area. The actual depth of the
borings may be increased or decreased depending on the
occurrence and extent of peat deposits.
2. Provide a written report which will include the results
of the field and any required laboratory testing. The
written report will also include recommendations
concerning the water table elevation and also required
111/1
excavation to competent soils.
Project Direction
The services we perform on your project will be done under the
direction of an experienced geotechnical engineer registered in the
state of Minnesota.
Insurance
For the mutual protection of you and Twin City Testing Corporation, we
maintain both general and professional liability insurance.
Certificates of such insurance can be provided at your request.
Fees
Our estimated fee for this project is $900. Our actual fee for the
project will be based on the attached fee schedule. Our fee will not
exceed the $900 maximum without your approval , however. If different
subsursurface conditions than those described above are encountered
which we feel would warrant additional work beyond the scope described
above, we would propose to perform such work at additional cost. If
this situation arises, we would discuss the additional work with you
and receive your approval before proceeding. The attached sheet
entitled "General Conditions of Geotechnical Agreement" is part of this
11111 proposal .
