ADDENDUM A POSITION ACCOUNTABILITY WRITE-UP POSITION TITLE: Aquatics Director DEPARTMENT : Parks , Recreations and Forestry ACCOUNTABLE TO:• Diector, New Brighton Parks and Recreation Director, Mounds View Parks , Recreation & Forestry De .'' . PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION: Is to organize, direct, implement , anti coordinate the City 's aquatics program at both the Edgewood Communit,, Center pool, Highview Junior High pool, Lakeside Park beach, and Long Lake Regional Park beach . MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY 1. Responsible for the supervision, hiring, and evaluation of all beach and pool personnel including lifeguards , water safety in- structors , maintenance personnel , and related -. quatics supervisor 2 . Responsible for scheduling the working hours , rotation and staffin needs of the lifeguards at both the pool and swimming beach area:; . 3 . Assign work duties to assure that they are taken care of in an efficient and smooth manner to include lifeguarding, first aid , cleaning and other maintenance as directed. • 4 . Responsible for preparation of all time sheets , Red Cross certi-• fication cards and other written material as requested by the respective Parks and Recreation Directors . 5 . Responsible for the in-house training and supervision of all lifeguards in the areas of regulations , rules , safety procedures , use of the equipment and techniques of general beach and pool control. 6 . Responsible for working and coordinating with all related agencies involved with the pool and beach program to include but not limited to other municipal recreation departments , Mounds View swimming association and local community, civic organizations . 7 . Directs and coordinates the preparation of the year round swim- ming program which will be mailed to all school district residents promoting swimming opportunities available throughout the district . 8 . Oversees a variety of public relations activities designed to make the most effective use available promotional possibilities through local media, flyers , uch°to evaluatemetostheetter extentoposspbleence, etc. and follows through the excess of such endeavors .
