MOUNDS VIEW PUBLIC SCHOOLS <br />Long-Range Facilities Usage Task Force <br />November 7, 1985 <br />MINUTES <br />peputy Superintendent Dave Clough welcomed members and introduced Chairman <br />John Benham. <br />Benham asked task f rce members to introduce themselves and indicate the <br />constituency they represent. <br />Clough read the resoTution presented to the School Board by the District Study <br />and Advisory Comnittee which requested development of a process for addressing <br />problems related to enrollments and student housing. Clough revi wed subsequent <br />Board attion whicn called for formation of a task force to study all pertinent <br />data, reteive student input, receive pu6lic input by means of a hearing, provide <br />interim reports to the Board, discuss alternatives, and provide final recortenenda- <br />tions and timelines for Board consideration. <br />Clough stated that he felt the role of individual task force members was to <br />represent their constituencies; be communicators; determine what is best for <br />District students; and keep their alternates informed of all infonnation received. <br />nal Education &'Student Services, presented <br />ained how projections are arrived at; stated <br />ate, depending or education programs and'ratia <br />wed the`enrollment history at Turtle Lake Ele- <br />mentdry School over the past year, <br />Benham stressed that: <br />1. Members should'make sure they understand the terminology <br />2. Any idea may have merit <br />3. Primary focus should be on student issues, at least in the early meetings <br />4. There-are no "sacred cows" <br />5. History has,particular meaning in this Districi and we should learn from <br />it, but'we must look ahead, not back <br />6.
