As I am sure you are aware, <br />72 percent of the households in School Ristrict #621 do not have <br />school age children. ThexF currently exists a myriad of commun- <br />ity organizations, municipal recreation programs, and community <br />education proqram:offerings that provide services to not only the <br />28 percent of'families with school aqe children, a well as the <br />remaining 72 percent of the households. <br />The Edgewood Community Center currently provides services for not <br />only Mounds View residents, but the School Pistrict on a whole. <br />It is my understanding that you have already received a copy of <br />the Edgewood Comnunity Center usaqe report, but I would also like <br />to update the School District daka o inc2ude the City usage of <br />the facility. The City of Mounds View currently manaqes the pool <br />facility at Edgewood from 7:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m., Monday - Satur- <br />day and is a primary user of the gym facilities. <br />Our current pool usage on a district-wide basis is as follows <br />based on final 1984 figures, see enclosed repc rt): <br />1. The City of Mounds View currently offecs aquatics instruction <br />in 14 different areas ranging from waterhabies to arthritic <br />exercise. <br />2.' Zbtdl swim lesson participation in 1984 involved over 1,300 <br />pa:icip3nts. <br />4.- ,
