MEMO TO: MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL
PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSIONERS
• FROM: MARY SAARION, DIRECTOR
PARKS, RECREATION AND FORESTRY
DATE: JANUARY 19, 1988
RE: AUTUMN PROGRAMS
Autumn program statistics are attached to this memo. The transition
of summer outdoor activities shifts to autumn indoor activities and
since school is in session, many activities are shifted from daytime
to evening or weekend times .
Also attached, please note the first three months of scheduled
activity use at the Random Park building. The users of the building
have been very satisfied with the facility. The only group that has
not been accommodated is the Senior exercise class because the group
requires too much space when floor exercises are performed.
Beginning in February, the building will also host an adapted
recreation program for children and teens who attend special
education classes within the School District. The teen program will
. meet Friday evenings and the youth will meet on Saturday mornings .
The program will be in the form of a social "club" engaging in
leisure recreational activities .
MS/sl
Attachment
