ti <br /> Leisure Time Activities: <br /> • In order to measure the proportion of Mounds View residents <br /> engaged in outdoor activities, respondents were asked : <br /> In general , do you usually spend your <br /> leisure time in outdoor activities, <br /> weather permitting, or indoor <br /> activities? <br /> Leisure time activities overwhelmingly tilted toward the <br /> outdoors. Seventy percent of the sample favored that to indoor <br /> activities: <br /> OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES 70% <br /> INDOOR ACTIVITIES <br /> BOTH 20% <br /> NO LEISURE TIME O'/ <br /> DON'T KNOW/REFUSED 1'/. <br /> Outdoor enthusiasts tended to be: <br /> * Less than two year residents <br /> '•i * Planning to stay less than two years <br /> * 25-34 year olds <br /> * Blue Collar households <br /> Indoor groups were: <br /> * Over twenty year residents <br /> * 55-64 year olds <br /> * Retirees <br /> 45-54 year olds tended to report they spend their leisure time in <br /> a balanced mix of both types of activities. As a rule, <br /> development of outdoor facilities and outdoor programming will <br /> best serve the needs of the general community.
