MINUTES OF THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW COUNTY OF RAMSEY STATE OF MINNESOTA • June 16 , 1988 Mounds View City Hall Council Chambers 6 : 30 p.m. CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order at 7 :12 p.m. by Chairperson Wayne Burmeister following an on-site discussion of possible redevelopment of Hillview Park. ROLL CALL Commissioners present : Silvis, Rowley, Anderson, Starr, Stevenson and Burmeister. Commissioners absent: Long Councilmembers present : Wuori , Quick Staff present : Director Saarion and Administrative Assistant Linke. Visitors : Bob Carpenter, 2650 Lake Court Drive; Clifford and Mildred Ash, 2664 Lake Court Drive; Laura and Kenneth Peterson, • 2556 Mounds View Drive; John Larson, 2568 Mounds View Drive ; Dave Rademacher, 7421 Park View Drive. APPROVAL OF MINUTES A motion was made by Commissioner Silvis, seconded by Commissioner Stevenson to approve the May 26 , 1988 minutes as written. Motion passed unanimously 6 ayes , 0 nayes. CHAIRPERSON' S REPORT Chairperson Burmeister asked if the trees at Silver View were being watered as they looked in distress. Director Saarion stated that they were being watered, but the drought conditions were so severe that the park maintenance crew was unable to keep up. Chairperson Burmeister expressed concern about the increasing number of musk rats at Silver View Park. Director Saarion stated that she would request trapping of the muskrats once again this year. COUNCILMEMBER' S REPORT Councilmember Wuori reported that park dedication fees will be paid by Amoco and that the Harstad Company has requested a waiver of fee in lieu of donated land • should their development be approved. Councilmember Wuori also stated that the recycling program begins Tuesday, June 22.
