MINUibb UN THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION • CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW COUNTY OF RAMSEY STATE OF MINNESOTA • April 23 , 1987 6: 30 p.m. Mounds View City Hall Council Chambers CALL TO ORbER . Following a tour of City parks, the meeting was called to order at 7 : 35 p.m. by Chairperson Wayne Burmeister. ROLL CALL Commissioners present: Commissioners Starr, Daniels, Rowley, Anderson and Chairperson Burmeister. Commissioners absent: Commissioners Long and Silvis Councilmembers present : Councilmember Quick. Staff present: Director Saarion and Administrative Assistant Linke. APPROVAL OF MINUTES A motion was made by Commissioner Daniels, seconded by Commissioner Starr to approve the March 26 , 1987 minutes as written. • AGENDA ADDITIONS Staff recommended that a discussion on a Public • Hearing for Random Park be added under section VIII "Old Business" . CHAIRPERSON' S REPORT Chairperson Burmeister reported that he had received a letter from a resident requesting permission to place duck and geese feeders on Silver View Park property. After a brief discussion, a motion was made by Commissioner Daniels, seconded by Commissioner Anderson to deny permission for the duck and geese feeders on park property and to suggest that he place them on his own property. The motion passed unanimously: 5 ayes, 0 nays. Chaiperson Burmeister also expressed concern about the growing numbers of muskrat houses along the bank of the Silver View Park pond and suggested that staff contact the DNR about arranging for a the muskrats to be trapped. In addition, Chairperson Burmeister stated that the drainage culverts in Silver View Park were full of trash and should be cleaned out. Staff • indicated that those types of maintenance items would be taken care of when the summer J.P.T.A. crew begins work. COUNCILMEMBER'S REPORT No Report
