MOUNDS VIEW Exhibit A <br /> • <br /> Parks and Recreation Commission <br /> May, 26, 1999, 6:30 p.m. <br /> Minutes <br /> Commissioners present: Sherry Gunn, Gary Stevenson, Stan McDonald, Mary Benz, and <br /> Rob Marty (Council liason). <br /> Commissioners absent: Pam Starr, Dave Long, and Frank Silvis. <br /> Staff present: Terri Blattenbauer(YMCA) <br /> Meeting called to order at 6:40 p.m. at City Hall. There were 11 community members <br /> also present for the Silverview trail discussion. <br /> A motion was made to approve the minutes from March 24 by Gary, with a second to the <br /> motion by Stan. There was no April meeting. <br /> Several community members spoke in favor to pave the remainder of the trail that <br /> surrounds Silverview pond. Some additional considerations asked of the group: <br /> • • To add a bridge across the narrow area of the pond. <br /> • They appreciate the vistas, which right now there are none. <br /> • Would like to see a planting plan and canoe access. <br /> • Fishing pier <br /> • Cut grass closer to water <br /> • Boardwalk in low and "wet" areas <br /> • More swings <br /> • Maintain path,trim bushes, spray for wild cucumbers and burn weed. <br /> • Finish Greenfield trail <br /> • Remove lillies from pond(Cliff Ash provided information on DNR approved <br /> product.). <br /> Gary made a motion to pass by resolution the paving of the remainder of Silverview <br /> path surrounding the pond. Also,that the item be moved to the Planning <br /> Commission and on to the City Council. Seconded by Stan. <br /> Terri reviewed the next agenda item which was a synopsis of tabled items from some <br /> past items. This was developed in lieu of the April meeting. Updated items discussed <br /> include: The landscape timeline which is pending due to the completion of the outdoor <br /> basketball courts. The NYSCA coaching certification has been implemented into our <br /> youth baseball program. The additional gym amenities have been ordered and will be <br /> shipped on June 4. We are continuing to pursue the refrigerator donation, 4 safety bases <br />
