SEH <br /> indicated that it does mean a longer time to <br /> wait, but that it probably doesn't hinder our <br /> chances for approval. <br /> LAKESIDE PARK: At 7: 00 p.m. the Spring Lake Park Recreation <br /> Commission arrived for the joint meeting regarding <br /> operation of Lakeside Park this summer. Both <br /> proposals I and II were reviewed (in the packet) . <br /> It was a mutual agreement by both Commissions that <br /> the activities at the park this summer should <br /> provide for the greatest amount of lifeguarding <br /> services possible because of the favorable water <br /> conditions this year. <br /> A motion was made by Chairperson Burmeister and <br /> seconded by Commissioner Long to recommend to the <br /> City Council the operation of Proposal II which <br /> calls for the use of Fund Balance monies plus the <br /> budgeted monies to provide for 6 weeks of <br /> lifeguarding staff every day of the week. The <br /> motion passed, 5 Ayes, 0 Nayes. Motion passed. <br /> Commissioners Starr and Dentz agreed to attend the <br /> City Council work session on <br /> Monday, March 9, 1992 to confirm <br /> the Commissioner's recommendation • <br /> to the City Councilmembers <br /> regarding the request to spend a <br /> portion of the Fund Balance for <br /> this summers beach operations. <br /> Commissioner Trettel suggested that a donation box <br /> be available at Lakeside Park for contributions by <br /> patrons, similar to boxes found at Como Zoo. <br /> Also, it was suggested that a raffle could be held <br /> every week with the reward being a free rental of <br /> the water equipment. These ideas and other will <br /> be reviewed as fund raisers. <br /> ADJOURNMENT: Commissioner Long made a motion, seconded by <br /> Commissioner Starr to adjourn the meeting.
