THIS IS IT <br /> Parks, Recreation & Forestry Department <br /> Week of June 15, 1992 <br /> This week marks the beginning of many summer youth programs. <br /> Programs which began this week are listed: <br /> Monday: Boys Basketball Camp <br /> Gymnastics Camp <br /> Co-Rec Sandlot Volleyball League <br /> Swimming Lessons <br /> Tuesday: Willy Tilly' s <br /> Thursday: Kids Kaboodle, Preschool Program <br /> Monday - Friday: Evening Swimming Lessons <br /> Also, the department held orientation meetings with groups of <br /> summer seasonal recreation staff including Lakeside Park Beach <br /> staff, Summer Playground Staff, Pool staff, and Gymnastics staff. <br /> Lakeside Park Beach opens Saturday, June 20 and the department <br /> staff has been working with the beach lifeguards in preparing for <br /> the beach activities. <br /> Next week many other programs begin including the summer <br /> playground programs, tennis lessons, basketball clinic, Red Cross <br /> Babysitting Course, and rollerskating trip. <br /> Staff is assisting MVAA with preparation of Silver View Park for <br /> the Regional Tournament. <br /> Final purchase and distribution of arts and crafts supplies and <br /> other materials for summer playgrounds was completed. Summer <br /> playground leaders will be preparing the park buildings for <br /> action, to begin Monday morning, June 22, 1992 . <br /> Staff has been continuing to work on budget information. <br /> Staff continues to work on after-school programs as requested by <br /> the school district, for middle schools activities in 1992-93 . <br /> MVCT tickets sales have begun, and already three group sales have <br /> been recorded. <br /> The City of Mounds View hosted the RSCC meeting on Wednesday, <br /> June 16, 1992 . The Task Force continues to discuss the governing <br /> issue which is a very important and controversial aspect of the <br /> RSCC. <br /> 410 The Parks & Recreation Commission packet was prepared and sent to <br />
