• <br />RESOLUTION NO 5396 <br />CITY OF MOIJNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />RESOLUTION REQUIRING CABLE BROADCASTING OF CITY BUSINESS <br />CONDUCTED AT OPEN PUBLIC MEETINGS <br />WHEREAS, the City of Mounds View desires its citizens to be ].gully apprised of all city <br />business conducted on their behalf; and <br />WHEREAS, Minnesota Statutes Section 471.705. Subdivision 1, the Minnesota Open <br />Meeting Law, requires that "[e lxcept as otherwise expressly provided by statute, all inectings, <br />including executive sessions, of. . . the governing body of a ... statutory or home rule city ... or <br />other public body, and of any committee, subcommittee. board. department. or commission of a <br />public body must be open to the public;" and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council desires that all inectings of the City subject to the above - <br />referenced Open Meeting Law also be subject to the requirement, in furtherance of keepin,, the <br />citizens of the City of Mounds View informed, of cable broadcasting when staff members are <br />available; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council desires that the cable broadcasting requirements for open <br />meetings of the City apply to all entities of the City_ and that such desire be set lorth as a policy <br />of the City. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE 1T RESOLVED THAT, the City Council of the City of <br />Mounds View establishes the policy that all meetings of the City or any of its committees, <br />subcommittees, boards, departments. or commissions which are subject to the Open .Meeting <br />Law also be subject to the requirement that the meeting be broadeast via cable television, when <br />sufficient staff is available to facilitate the cable broadcasting of the meeting. <br />Adopted this 13)"' day of'December. 1999. <br />, <br />Attest: <br />1 � J <br />Ilan Coughlin, Ma <br />(SEAL) <br />Charles S.
