Ordinance 999 <br />Page 3 of 4 <br />(2) Such signs shall not project over public street right-of-way but may project over private <br />sidewalks. No such sign shall be less than 12 feet above the level of the sidewalk; except that, <br />the signs which do not exceed four square feet and which do not project more than two feet <br />over the sidewalk may be eight feet or more above the sidewalk. No projection sign shall project <br />more than eight feet over any private sidewalk. <br />(3) There shall be no more than two feet of space between the inner edge of any such sign and the <br />face of the wall from which it projects, nor shall the outer edge of the sign be more than eight <br />feet from the face of the wall. Projection Signs and structural elements shall not exceed 10 feet <br />in height above a roof or parapet. The allowable size of Projection Signs shall be included within <br />the permitted Wall Sign area. <br />(4) The building or structure from which any such sign projects and all attachments or fastenings <br />must be so constructed as to safely resist the dead load and the wind load added by the <br />attached sign. <br />(5) All such signs shall be of non-combustible materials or of not less than one -hour fire -resistive <br />construction. <br />(6) Such signs shall be securely fixed in place and shall not be able to swing or sway. <br />(1) Statue. Statues shall be constructed of non -pliable all-weather material (e.g. not an inflatable sign), <br />permanently anchored to the ground or a building, or comparable structure. Statutes shall not <br />exceed 100 sq ft in area (example; 10' height, 10' width, 10' depth), 16' in height if at ground level, <br />or 10' in height above the roof or parapet if attached to a building. Location of Statues shall comply <br />with the same setbacks required for Ground Signs. <br />§ 161.039 MISCELLANEOUS SIGNAGE REQUIREMENTS AND PROVISIONS. <br />(A) Signage allowances for specific land uses. Public or semi-public recreational buildings and <br />neighborhood and community centers; public and private education institutions limited to <br />elementary, middle and senior high schools; religious institutions; nursing homes, senior assisted <br />living facilities and commercial day care facilities; may be allowed the following signage: <br />(1) Wall signage not to exceed I80 300 square feet per principal building; and <br />(2) Ground signage not to exceed 100 200 square feet, subject to § 161.038(A)(5) of this chapter. <br />§ 161.040 PROHIBITED SIGNS. <br />The following signs and sign types are prohibited in the city: <br />(C) Roof signs, unless integrally incorporated into the roof design, then the sign shall be considered a <br />wall Projection Sign; <br />SECTION 2.
