The system was first constructed in the 1970's <br />and as with other similar core functions, research, innovation and best management <br />practices have changed over the years. <br />The June 2023 Stormwater Pond Assessment Report recommends a number of <br />required maintenance items to restore the Stormwater ponding system. Included in the <br />implementation of the plan is the dredging and upland vegetation of the Ardan Park <br />Storm Water Ponds AA-1.P1 and AA-1.P2 <br />Stantec has prepared a proposal for the assessment, design and implementation of the <br />dredging and restoration of these ponds. The proposal for this project includes: <br />Task 1: Data Collection and understanding <br />Task 2: Public Engagement <br />Task 3: Permits <br />Task 4: Upland Vegetation Evaluation and Recommendations <br />Task 5: Design and Construction <br />Task 6: Upland Vegetation Management Plan <br />The proposal Stantec provided includes a schedule for 2023 and 2024, when the <br />dredging would be completed, for a cost of $84,000.00. <br />Funding for this project would be from the Storm Water Fund account 745-4417-7050, <br />with a 2023 budget of $225,000.00 for Storm Water Repairs <br />Strategic Plan Strategy/Goal: Maintain and Plan for Infrastructure Improvements. <br />Ensure Proper Storm Water Maintenance Drainage within the City. <br />Financial Impact: No financial Impact to the 2023 Budget. Storm Water Fund account <br />745-4417-7050, with 2023 budget of $225,000.00 for Storm Water Repairs <br />Recommendation: <br />Staff recommends the City Council approve the attached resolution approving the <br />proposal from Stantec for the Ardan Park Pond Dredging project to be funded from the <br />Storm Water Fund account 745-4417-7050, with a 2023 budget of $225,000.00. <br />Respectfully submitted <br />
