2023 2nd Quarter Report —Neighborhood Resource Officer <br />The NRO responded to 217 calls for service in the second quarter and participated in 9 <br />Community Outreach events. 47 of the cases were investigations received from Child <br />Protection and Adult Protection reporting maltreatment of children and vulnerable <br />adults. During the second quarter, the NRO returned to fulltime patrol on the overnight <br />shift to assist with covering the vacant positions within the department. <br />This quarter the Mounds View Police Department continued efforts that have been <br />established with the Crime Free Multi Housing Apartment Landlord Coalition. New <br />Brighton Department of Public Safety hosted the second quarterly meeting in which <br />several Landlords attended and spoke with an attorney from HOME Line regarding new <br />laws affecting property managers. The Apartment Coalition meeting is planned to <br />continue throughout the year. <br />Through the Crime Free Multi- Housing coalition, the NRO has sent out 2 strike letters. <br />There have been no Strike 2 letters necessary. The NRO continued to work with the <br />City of Mounds View Code Enforcement to mitigate any property management issues. <br />The NRO continues to work closely with the Northeast Youth and Family Services to <br />provide aid for youths, adults, and families in need of mental health counseling and <br />community support services. During the second quarter, the NRO submitted 2 referrals <br />for services through NYFS and 2 referrals for services to Ramsey County Parent <br />Support Outreach Program. The NRO is continuing to work on 4 open cases with NYFS <br />which primarily focus on housing and mental health services. <br />Community Outreach event collaborations have continued between the NRO and the <br />Mounds View Police Foundation. In May, the Mary Ann Young Center's Senior Safety <br />Fair was held at SBM Station 3. The NRO gave a speech on fraud prevention. In <br />addition, MVPD K9 Grizz and his handler Sergeant Schultes conducted an <br />informational session on Police K9's which included a demonstration. On June 7th, the <br />Mound View Police Foundation hosted a fundraiser at Manitou Bar and Kitchen where <br />Officers passed out stickers, coloring books, and had a K9 present for meet and greets. <br />The NRO participated in several other outreach events such as Coffee with a Cop at <br />Colonial Village Mobile Home Community, Squad Car show and tell at KinderCare, and <br />various Rockwall events in the area. Officers also participated in the Torch Run to help <br />raise money for the Minnesota Special Olympics. <br />The NRO continues to monitor and stay consistent with predatory offender's registered <br />in Mounds View. The NRO recently attended a day long training hosted by the <br />Minnesota BCA to stay current with any and all changes to predatory offender tracking <br />and management. <br />Current and relevant information continues to be posted on Nextdoor.com, Twitter, and <br />Instagram. <br />
