Resolution 9774, Approving the Hire of Finance Director Gayle Bauman. <br />3 <br />4 Council Member Lindstrom stated Finance Director Mark Beer has worked for the City for the <br />5 past 18 years and his last day with the City would be September 14, 2023. He explained the new <br />6 Finance Director worked for a neighboring city which meant she understood the area. He looked <br />7 forward to Gayle Bauman starting with the City on August 21 and wished her all the best in her <br />8 new position. <br />9 <br />10 MOTION/SECOND: Lindstrom/Cermak. To Waive the Reading and Adopt Resolution 9774, <br />11 Approving the Hire of Finance Director Gayle Bauman. <br />12 <br />13 Ayes — 4 Nays — 0 Motion carried. <br />14 <br />15 6. SPECIAL ORDER OF BUSINESS <br />16 <br />17 None. <br />18 <br />19 7. PUBLIC COMMENT <br />20 <br />21 Robert King, 7408 Silver Lake Road, expressed concern with what was happening to the City. He <br />22 stated he did not like the way the Councilmembers were going after each other. He indicated he <br />23 did not like the comment about "letting them see us win". He reported someone a Councilmember <br />24 was at work and she was being threatened. He explained he wanted to see the City come together. <br />25 <br />26 Valerie Amundsen, 3048 Woodale Drive, stated he listened to the Council work session from a <br />27 few weeks ago and she was quite disturbed. She agreed the all members of the City should be <br />28 treating everyone with respect. She was bothered by the people who got out of hand privately or <br />29 at meetings. She indicated for the most part, she has been impressed by the number of comments <br />30 and people who have been making statements at public meetings. She reported these residents <br />31 were doing their homework and wanted to be heard. She hoped this was what the City wanted its <br />32 citizens to do. She hoped this would continue going forward and that the comments made at private <br />33 meetings would be made publicly going forward. <br />34 <br />35 Andrew Oltmanns, 5373 Jackson Drive, explained he has lived in Mounds View for the past 11 <br />36 years. He reported he has listened to the private meeting and he believed it was terrible what <br />37 happened. He stated he was curious how the funds would be spent that were allocated for the <br />38 proposed apartments. He suggested the City consider spending money on roadway safety and <br />39 speeding traffic. He stated he would like to see residents respecting roadway regulations and other <br />40 drivers because there were people in the community that still cared. <br />41 <br />42 Dan Mueller, 8343 Groveland Road, reported he listened to the infamous Council audio as well. <br />43 He explained Acting Mayor Meehlhause mentioned being ticked off and that an officer had to be <br />44 sitting in Council Chambers. He did not understand who the comment was directed at, but he also <br />45 understand there were concerns about the safety of the Council. He indicated he was bothered by <br />46 the fact the residents were not being referred to as residents, constituents, or voters, but rather was <br />
