Mows viEw <br />City of Mounds View Staff Report <br />Item No: <br />Meeting Date: September 25, 2023 <br />Type of Business: Reports <br />Administrator Review: <br />To: Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From: Don Peterson, Public Works Director <br />Item Title/Subject: 2023 Public Works / Parks and Recreation Quarterly Report from <br />January — September 2023 <br />The following is an executive summary of the Public Works/ Parks and Recreation Department's <br />activities from January through September 2023. <br />Public Works Operation & Maintenance (O&M) Division <br />The O&M Division was busy with snow plowing, preventative maintenance, and infrastructure <br />improvement activities during the first three quarters of the year. There were 77 after-hours callout <br />events during first quarter (not including after-hours snow plowing events): <br />Water Main or Service Breaks after hours call outs 13 <br />Sewer back-up checks after hours call outs 8 <br />Other (SCADA, Rinks, Storms, Emergency Locations.) 23 <br />Park building Cleaning 43 <br />The most common call -out continues to be private sewer service back-ups. In addition, the following <br />are a synopsis of major activities performed by the O&M Division during first three quarters of 2023. <br />Drinking Water <br />• 328,286,000 gallons water pumped & treated <br />120 total coliform bacteria samples tested with all <br />testing negative <br />5 water main breaks <br />10 water service breaks <br />727 Gopher State One Call locate tickets <br />25 hydrants refurbished <br />3 ongoing street projects to locate for <br />Ongoing testing at WTP#2 <br />Sanitary Sewer <br />80,680 feet sanitary sewer trunk cleaned <br />35,250 feet sanitary sewer trunk televised/inspected <br />275 manholes inspected <br />6 manholes refurbished <br />Storm Water <br />300 feet storm sewer cleaned <br />608 miles of roads and lots swept (this data is off Precise using the pickup head sensor ) <br />201 infiltration Basins cleaned / corrected as of 9-7-23 <br />5 catch basin repairs <br />Streets and Trails <br />41 snow plowing or ice control events <br />
