Public Works 2023 Quarters 1-3 Report Page 5 Capital Improvement Projects Although no too little construction was occurring during the first quarter, Public Works was very busy planning, reviewing, managing, and closing out various current and past projects — the following are notable ones. 2023 Street Improvement Project —Spring Lake Road -Areas J and K, Pleasant View Drive Public Works coordinated inspected the street project. The contractor the final design and bidding phases with the City's consultant, Stantec. Bidding documents were approved in February and a bid opening occurred on March 21. Six bid proposals were received that ranged from $3,122,034.01 to $ 3,465,514. 2022, 2023 Street Rehabilitation Project, close to being completed, final restoration underway and Contractor working on punch list items. Pleasant View Drive/ Stinson Road — joint project with the City of Fridley, close to being completed with contractor working on punch list items, installing enhanced cross walk signals and new street signs. Engineering/Architectural Consulting Services Stantec: Bid Phase for 2023 Street & Utility Improvement Project - Area J & K ($3,742,093.95) Pleasant View Drive/ Stinson Road — City of Fridley Staff is starting to prepare for the 2024 Street Construction with mill and overlay, full depth reclamation, and sealing projects. 2023 Water Treatment Plant and Facilities Reconditioning Project The Water Treatment Rehabilitation Project continues; Phase 2 - Water Treatment Plant 1 is in the final punch list and project close out nearing completion. Phase 1 Water Treatment Plants (WTP) 2 and 3 — Council is aware the City is in litigation with the Contractor for phase 1 regarding problems with WTP 2. Staff is working to put out bids to for repairing WTP 2. WTP 1 and 3 are in full operation and working as designed. Sanitary Sewer Cured In Place Pipe (CIPP) Project is currently underway with lining of 3,996 feet of 8", 3,725 feet of 10", 663 feet of 12" and 3,822 feet of 15" with the buried depths of the sewer lines from 6' to 32', the average depth is 21' Storm Water Pond Assessment Stantec has completed the survey and assessment of the City's Storm Water Pond Assessment. The final report has provided the City with a priority list of ponds and features for needed maintenance with a recommended time line and estimated cost. Ardan and Silver View Storm Water Pond Projects Neighborhood/Informational Meeting scheduled, input from the residents regarding the ponds and or concerns with water quality, trees and general function of the ponds will be collected. Stantec will work on Plans and specifications for the dredging of Ardan Park Storm Water Ponds as well as looking at the Silver View Park Ponds for spot sediment removal, water quality and shore land improvements.
