Public Works 2023 Quarters 1-3 Report <br />Page 5 <br />Capital Improvement Projects <br />Although no too little construction was occurring during the first quarter, Public Works was very busy <br />planning, reviewing, managing, and closing out various current and past projects — the following are <br />notable ones. <br />2023 Street Improvement Project —Spring Lake Road -Areas J and K, Pleasant View Drive <br />Public Works coordinated inspected the street project. The contractor the final design and bidding <br />phases with the City's consultant, Stantec. Bidding documents were approved in February and a bid <br />opening occurred on March 21. Six bid proposals were received that ranged from $3,122,034.01 to <br />$ 3,465,514. <br />2022, 2023 Street Rehabilitation Project, close to being completed, final restoration underway and <br />Contractor working on punch list items. <br />Pleasant View Drive/ Stinson Road — joint project with the City of Fridley, close to being completed <br />with contractor working on punch list items, installing enhanced cross walk signals and new street <br />signs. <br />Engineering/Architectural Consulting Services <br />Stantec: Bid Phase for 2023 Street & Utility Improvement Project - Area J & K ($3,742,093.95) <br />Pleasant View Drive/ Stinson Road — City of Fridley <br />Staff is starting to prepare for the 2024 Street Construction with mill <br />and overlay, full depth reclamation, and sealing projects. <br />2023 Water Treatment Plant and Facilities Reconditioning Project <br />The Water Treatment Rehabilitation Project continues; <br />Phase 2 - Water Treatment Plant 1 is in the final punch list and <br />project close out nearing completion. <br />Phase 1 Water Treatment Plants (WTP) 2 and 3 — Council is aware <br />the City is in litigation with the Contractor for phase 1 regarding <br />problems with WTP 2. Staff is working to put out bids to for repairing <br />WTP 2. WTP 1 and 3 are in full operation and working as designed. <br />Sanitary Sewer Cured In Place Pipe (CIPP) <br />Project is currently underway with lining of 3,996 feet of 8", 3,725 <br />feet of 10", 663 feet of 12" and 3,822 feet of 15" with the buried <br />depths of the sewer lines from 6' to 32', the average depth is 21' <br />Storm Water Pond Assessment <br />Stantec has completed the survey and assessment of the City's Storm Water Pond Assessment. <br />The final report has provided the City with a priority list of ponds and features for needed <br />maintenance with a recommended time line and estimated cost. <br />Ardan and Silver View Storm Water Pond Projects <br />Neighborhood/Informational Meeting scheduled, input from the residents regarding the ponds and or <br />concerns with water quality, trees and general function of the ponds will be collected. Stantec will <br />work on Plans and specifications for the dredging of Ardan Park Storm Water Ponds as well as looking <br />at the Silver View Park Ponds for spot sediment removal, water quality and shore land improvements. <br />
