MOUNDS VIEW <br />of Mounds View Staff R <br />Item No: 9D <br />Meeting Date: January 27, 2022 <br />Type of Business: PRF Commission Meetin <br />City Administrator Review: <br />To: Parks and Recreation and Forestry Commission <br />From: Don Peterson, PWPRFREC Director <br />Item Title/Subject: Community Center Expansion <br />Introduction: <br />As part of the Strategic Plan, Compressive Plan Update, and Workshop/Retreat specific <br />to Mounds View Boulevard, the Council directed staff to further explore opportunities on <br />our campus given we are the largest landowner on the Boulevard. <br />Prior to this, council authorized further work on the Tribute Park specific to forming a <br />committee which is in process. <br />Tonight's meeting will provide council and opportunity to "explore" what might be <br />described as a "maximum" expansion of the Community Center with a focus on the <br />recreation side — specifically youth and amateur sports via an 3 gymnasium expansion. <br />1. Director Peterson who will share architectural renditions created by Ortel, the <br />same firm of record for the public works building. These are concept in nature <br />but identify maximum use of the existing site when taking into account the <br />parking. Don will also share some cost estimates. <br />Next Steps: <br />1.
