Item: 8A <br />I h <br />MUNI is VIEW <br />PUBLIC WORKS • PARKS & RECREATION <br />MEMORANDUM <br />To: Parks & Recreation & Forestry Commissioners <br />From: Don Peterson — Director of Public Works/Parks and Recreation <br />Date: April 28, 2022 <br />RE: Lambert Park Hockey Rink <br />Discussion/ Background <br />Staff proposed to the Parks and Recreation and Forestry Commission to reduce the <br />overall size of the hockey rink at Lambert Park; create a % sized hockey rink, and move <br />the pleasure rink to the North -end of what is currently the hockey rink. <br />The Commission requested Staff to obtain proposals for reducing the size of the hockey <br />rink and replacing the hockey boards: <br />• Keller Fence, Inc of St. Paul, MN to install new post and chain link netting for the <br />hockey rink for $ 24,454.00 <br />• Home Depot of Blaine, MN for lumber and hardware to install new boards for <br />$9,503.89 <br />• Voss Lighting of Roseville supply (14) LED rink lights for $4,375.00 <br />• Lakes Area Electric — installation of new lights $5,000.00 <br />Total $43,332.89 <br />Staff is also recommending a 7% contingency of $3,033.00 for any unforeseen issues <br />that may arise with this project and for any cost increases that may occur. <br />Funding would be from the Park Dedication account, 451-4470-7050 with a 2022 <br />budget of $60,000.00, for new boards for the Lambert Park Hockey Rink. <br />Recommendation: <br />Staff is seeking direction from the Parks and Recreation and Forestry Commission <br />regarding the Lambert Park Hockey Rink modifications. <br />Respectfully submitted, <br />Don Peterson <br />Director of Public Works/Parks and Recreation <br />
