ORDINANCE NO. 1005 <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 31.001 (B) OF THE MOUNDS VIEW CITY <br />CODE REGARDING THE COMPOSITION OF THE COUNCIL <br />AND ESTABLISHING A VICE ACTING MAYOR <br />THE CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW ORDAINS: <br />SECTION 1. The City Council of the City of Mounds View hereby amends Title 3, Chapter 31, <br />Section 31.001 of the Mounds View Municipal Code by adding the e- li material and <br />deleting the strieke material as follows: <br />31.001 COMPOSITION OF COUNCIL. <br />A) Membership. The Council shall consist of the Mayor and four Council members. Three <br />members shall constitute a quorum, although a smaller number may adjourn from time to time. <br />B) Acting Mayor. At its first meeting each year, the Council shall choose an Acting Mayor from <br />the Council members. The Acting Mayor shall perform the duties of Mayor during the disability or <br />absence of the Mayor from the municipality or, in the case of vacancy in the office of Mayor, until a <br />successor has been elected or appointed and qualifies. In the case of vacancy in the office of Mayor, <br />the Counci I shall by resolution ada ted choose a Vice Acting Mayor from the Council members who <br />shall perform the duties of Mayor during -the disability or absence of the -Acting Mayor from the <br />municipality or, in the case of vacancy in the seat of the council member serving as Actin Mayor, <br />until a successor has been elected orappointed and qualifies for the office of Ma or. <br />SECTION 2. In accordance with Section 3.07 of the City Charter, City staff shall have the following <br />summary printed in the official City newspaper in lieu of the complete ordinance: <br />On September 25, 2023, the City Council adopted Ordinance 1005 that amends Section 31.001(B) of <br />the Mounds View City Code regarding the composition of the Council and establishing a Vice Acting <br />Mayor. <br />A printed copy of the ordinance is available for inspection during regular business hours at Mounds <br />View City Hall and is available on line at the City's web site located at www.tnoundsviewmn.us . <br />SECTION 3.
