Item No: 8C <br />MOU-NDS <br />MEW <br />Meeting Date: it Business Type of Business: Council Business <br />Administrator review: <br />City or Mounds View Staff Report <br />To: Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From: Nyle Zikmund, City Administrator <br />Item Title/Subject: First Reading and Adoption of Ordinance 1011 AMENDING SECTION <br />2.06, SUBDIVISION 3 OF THE CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW CHARTER <br />Background <br />Due to the passing of Mayor Al Hull on May 20, 2023, legal recognized the need to amend the <br />position of Acting Mayor to Mayor until such time as the office Mayor is filled by an election. <br />Discussion <br />Council passed a resolution earlier in the year to accomplish this as the Charter process takes <br />longer. <br />The Charter Commission took up the issue as well and has adopted a resolution 2023-06 to <br />amend the charter language to provide for the acting mayor provision. <br />Proper notice and publication has been made with the Affidavit of Publication included in the <br />packet. <br />Recommendation <br />Staff recommends conducting the First Reading of Ordinance 1011.
