Item #: 7A <br />Meeting Date: November 16, 2023 <br />Type of Business: EDC <br />City of Mounds View Staff Report <br />To: Economic Development Commission <br />From: Brian Beeman, Assistant City Administrator <br />Item Title/Subject: Review Applications for EDC Commissioner Openings and <br />Make Recommendations to the EDA <br />Background: <br />The Economic Development Commission is comprised of seven members—three business <br />representatives and four resident representatives. Each member serves a three year term <br />which are staggered to ensure continuity of service. <br />Donn Lindstrom’s term ends December 31, 2023 and he has not resubmitted his application <br />for an additional term as a Resident Representative. However, Andrew Kovacs has applied <br />for all available Commission openings. <br />Jeff Moritko’s term ends December 31, 2023 and he has resubmitted his application for an <br />additional term as a Business Representative. <br />Discussion: <br />There is one EDC Resident Representative opening and one Business Representative <br />opening starting January 1, 2023. Two applications have been received. The EDC to <br />discuss and make a recommendation to the EDA. <br />Recommendation: <br />The EDC to make a motion recommending one Resident Representative and one <br />Business Representative to the EDA for consideration.
