MOU-N-DitSVIEW <br />City of Mounds View Staff Report <br />Item No: 05H <br />Meeting Date January 8, 2024 <br />Type of Business: Consent Agenda <br />City Administrator Review: <br />To: Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From: Rayla Sue Ewald, Human Resource Director <br />Item Title/Subject: Resolution 9857, Approving Wage Adjustment for Mechanic <br />Back Pay <br />Background: <br />On November 27, 2023 the City Council approved the Public Works Collective Bargaining <br />Wages for 2023 — 2025. The Mechanics wages were incorrectly recorded. <br />Discussion: <br />Mechanic Scott VanderVegt wages were requested to be paid at $37.71 per hour <br />retroactive to January 1, 2023. However, based on his wages, he should have received <br />$38.39 per hour. This was a staff oversight and has been discussed with the HR <br />Committee and the Finance Director. With City Council approval, Mr. VanderVegt will be <br />paid retroactively on his January 11, 2024 payroll. <br />Strategic Plan Strategy/Goal: <br />Create a culture where employees desire to work and remain employed with the City of Mounds <br />View. <br />Financial Impact: <br />Approximately $1,600.00 for 2023; and, $3,120.00 for 2024. <br />Recommendation: <br />Staff and the Human Resource Committee recommends Council adopt resolution 9857. <br />Respectfully submitted, <br />Rayla Sue Ewald <br />Human Resource Director <br />Attachments: Resolution 9857 <br />The Mounds View Vision <br />A Thriving Desirable Community <br />
