Resolution 1168-23, Adopting the 2024 Regular Meeting Schedule <br /> <br />Assistant City Administrator Beeman reported the bylaws require the Commission to adopt the <br />regular meeting schedule for the upcoming year. He explained this action was taken each year in <br />December. He indicated there was only one meeting date with a conflict and that was the <br />meeting that fell on June 19. He suggested this meeting be moved to June 18. The Commission <br />supported this recommendation. <br /> <br />Assistant City Administrator Beeman stated one other thing for the Commission to consider was <br />if the group would move the meeting start time to 6:00 p.m., as was done for City Council <br />meetings. The Commission supported moving the meeting start time to 6:00 p.m. <br /> <br />MOTION/SECOND: Commissioner Nelson/Commissioner Munson. To approve Resolution <br />1168-23, a Resolution Adopting the 2024 Regular Meeting Schedule with the discussed changes. <br /> <br /> Ayes – 6 Nays – 0 Motion carried. <br /> <br /> <br />8. Reports <br /> <br />A. Reports of Staff <br /> <br />Assistant City Administrator Beeman reported staff did not have any planning cases to consider <br />at this time. He anticipated the December 20 meeting would be canceled and noted the <br />Commission would meet next on Wednesday, January 3 at 6:00 p.m. <br /> <br />B. Reports of Council <br /> <br />Council Member Meehlhause provided the Planning Commission with an update from the City <br />Council. He commented on an Ordinance that was recently adopted by the City Council that <br />designated an Acting Mayor. He reported the Council tabled appointment of Planning <br />Commissioners and other Commission members. He noted the Council would be further <br />discussing the process that was followed for these appointments. He indicated the City would be <br />applying for a grant through the Met Council that would assist with funding the replacement of <br />private sewer lines. He explained the Council held the Truth in Taxation Hearing on Monday, <br />December 4 and noted the tax levy increase that was being considered by the Council was <br />6.25%. He commented further on the factors that were impacting the levy, which included <br />inflation and personnel costs. He then discussed two properties that the EDA had purchased for
